One team remains alive in Susquehanna County Little League action, as the B&M junior boys’ team continued the quest toward Little League glory.
B&M’s junior baseball team took a loss in the winner’s bracket last Wednesday before redeeming themselves with an 11-3 victory over Canton on Sunday.
SusquehannaCounty‘s 9-10 girls’ team had quite the run last week as the team battled back from the consolation round with a 15-5 win over Towanda to face NEBall in the District 15 finals where they perished 15-2.
DISTRICT 15
B&M
Junior Boys
B&M’s junior boys’ all-star baseball team played a winner’s bracket game against South Tioga on Wednesday evening that saw the boys from South Tioga advance in the tournament and send B&M to the consolation bracket where they faced off against Canton on Sunday.
In the game against Canton, the B&M team took an 11-3 victory to advance to the next round. B&M was set to play Towanda on the road on Tuesday evening, but the results were not known at press time.
The winner of yesterday’s game will face tomorrow (July 15) the loser of yesterday’s game between Athens and South Tioga for a chance to stay alive in the double elimination tourney.
BLUE RIDGE
9-10 Boys
Blue Ridge’s boys’ all-stars took a 12-11 victory over Susco East in the consolation bracket of the 9-10 boys’ Joe Shaw Memorial tournament on Wednesday evening. The game held at Hallstead saw Blue Ridge advance to play NEBall in a game held on Friday.
Against NEBall, Blue Ridge faced elimination as the team was handed a 4-3 loss in a close game.
11-12 Boys
The Blue Ridge boys’ 11-12 all-star team squared off against Towanda in the consolation bracket of the Daniel J. Aquilio III tournament and took a 10-3 loss in a game at home to be eliminated from contention.
SUSQUEHANNACOUNTY
9-10 Girls
Susquehanna County’s 9-10 girls faced an 11-0 loss from NEBall in the winner’s bracket game held on Tuesday evening to send the Susquehanna County girls to the consolation bracket.
SusquehannaCounty pitcher Amanda Mowry threw all four innings of the game, compiling 11 strikeouts. Hailey Rapisardi and Catey McAleer each had a single for SusquehannaCounty.
The 9-10 girls then battled back with a 15-5 win over Towanda in the consolation bracket on Thursday to head back to the winner’s bracket where they fell 12-2 to NEBall in the final game on Saturday.
