Bus crash claims life

A Clarks Summit woman was killed Tuesday, July 6, when the bus she was driving to a camp in Susquehanna County crashed into another bus driven by her husband.

Ruth L. Lynady, 72, was pronounced dead at the scene after she lost control of her vehicle and was ejected, Coroner Anthony Conarton said.
The other driver, William P. Lynady of Clarks Summit, was taken to Marian Community Hospital in Carbondale, state police at Gibson said.
A family member confirmed Mr. and Mrs. Lynady were married.
Lynady’s injuries were not life-threatening, Thompson Fire Chief Brian Wallace said.
No one else was on the buses, which Conarton said were driving together to a nearby camp.
The crash happened just after 10 a.m. in Ararat Twp. The buses were heading north on Route 2077 near Fiddle Lake when Lynady missed a turn and slowed down, state police said. Following behind, his wife clipped the back of his bus, veered into a ditch, through a field and back onto the road.
She was ejected when the bus swerved and tipped.
The buses are owned by Stafursky Transportation.
