Nye charges bound over for trial

Charges against a Susquehanna County man accused of raping a teenage girl were bound over for trial in the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas.

Bryan Nye, 38, Montrose, waived his preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Jeffrey Hollister on Monday.
Nye did not offer any comment; nor did he look at any of the witnesses present for the hearing.
The teen who accused Nye of rape appeared in court ready to offer testimony in the case.
The Times-Tribune does not identify the victim’s of alleged sexual assault.
After evading police capture for over four months, Nye turned himself into authorities on July 19.
He was arraigned by Hollister on July 28 and bail was set at $1 million or 10 percent cash equivalent. Nye is being held in the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility.
In addition to two felony rape counts, Nye also is charged with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault.
According to the police affidavit, the assaults took place over a 13-month period from Jan. 2009 through Feb. 2010.
