The Mountain View girls’ varsity soccer team is coming off a successful season, going 10-1-1 in the regular season and making it to the District II Class AA championship before falling to Montrose.
And Mountain View’s team, coached by Errol Mannick, looks to have success this year, making another run at the District title.
“We’re looking to win our division and districts this season,” Mannick said. “We’ve got a good group.”
This season, the Eagles bring back starters Megan Rowker, Alix Taylor, Taylor Brainard, Jill Roaske and Olivia Zick after graduating six seniors last year.
Mountain View is bolstering a roster of 23 girls, and Mannick said that all of this year’s starters have seen a significant amount of minutes prior to this season.
“All of our starters have seen minutes,” Mannick said. “The only trouble we may run into this season is depth, we have 23, compared to last year’s 28.”
With experience in the field, Mannick’s Eagles will compete against the likes of Montrose, Forest City, Lakeland and Dunmore.
On the offensive side, the Eagles will look to Rowker and Taylor along with freshman Jenny Molenko to put in a solid effort, while fourth-year starting goalkeeper Olivia Zick will lead the way on defense.
