The Blue Ridge varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer team faced a 4-3 loss to Carbondale at home on Thursday afternoon.

In the first half, Carbondale got ahead of Blue Ridge with three consecutive goals scored before halftime.

Blue Ridge also got on the board in the first half with a goal from Jacob James at 52:01, followed by another from James with an assist from Nick Vales at 62:12 and a third by Billy Rupakus off an assist from Eric Giangrieco at 78:50.

However, Carbondale took the lead at the end of the second half with a fourth goal, and took the win over the Raiders.

Blue Ridge goalie Tama Galu-Edgar had 12 saves while the Raiders had eight shots on goal and two corners.
