Tunkhannock’s David Novak had a strong showing at the Montrose Apple Festival Bike Races on Saturday, Sept 11, as he took first place overall.
David Novak won the Pro 1/2/3, 26 mile race, missing the course record by 10 seconds with a 65:10 finish.
He also won the King of the Mountain (KOM) for the 26 mile race.
John Loomis won the junior 15-18 race, 13 miles. John is freshman at Tunkhannock and runs cross country and wrestles for the Tigers.
Ashley Johnson was the beginner women winner with a 41:54 mile race, while Joe Jacobs took home first in the beginner men’s race at 34:16.
In the 26 mile “1-2-3-4” race for women, Marjoleen Schat took first place at 78:10.
The 26 mile category 4 race saw Michael Grygus take first at 67:18, while Phill Vermette won the 26 mile men’s 35 and over race.
