Vestal runner tops Montrose Invitational

Cal Michaels of Vestal was the top finisher in the Montrose Invitational Cross Country meet on Saturday morning.

He led the pack with a time of 17:05 11 seconds ahead of Towanda’s Joey Christian.

Top female finisher was -Mary Katherine Kulp, of Vestal, in a time of 21:15.

In junior high action, Susquehanna’s Ivy Christensen finished in first place overall in the race at 9:53.63, while Montrose’s Emma Washo took fifth place overall.

The boys’ junior high race saw Susquehanna’s Brandon Soden take second bechind first place Samuel Chauvin of Corning at 8:42.
