Girls’ soccer standings

Forest City

Forest City’s girls’ soccer team hauled in a 5-2 win over Montrose at home on Wednesday and a 3-0 shutout victory over Elk Lake in a game played in Dimock on Tuesday evening.

Facing Montrose, the Foresters fell behind early as Montrose scored off a Myra Ladamore goal with an assist from Sarah Lundy at 28:00.

However, Forest City’s Alyssa Borick tied up the game with a goal off an assist from Meagan Goben at 35:00 in the first half.

After halftime, Borick came out to score a second goal off an assist from Jess Gigliotti at 49:00.

The game went to 3-1 Foresters after Carly Erdmann scored with an assist from Goben at 54:00.

Montrose’s Lundy made the game 3-2 with a penalty kick at 56:00, however a third goal from Borick at 57:00 and a goal from Mary Sullivan at 61:00 with an assist from Erdmann sealed the game at 5-2 for Forest City.

The Foresters took 21 shots on goal and had eight corners while goalie Katie Yale had eight saves.

Montrose had seven shots on goal and one corner while Katelyn Spellman racked up nine saves.

Against Elk Lake in the first half, Forest City’s Goben scored a goal with an assist from Sullivan at 24:56.

Goben chipped in a second goal at 29:04 to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Foresters at the half.

The Foresters then capped off the game with a goal from Borick at 59:34 to take the victory.

Forest City had 16 shots on goal and two corners while Elk Lake took 10 shots on goal and had two corners.

Forest City goalie Yale had six saves on the day while Elk Lake’s Katie Mitchell made nine saves.

Mountain View

The Mountain View girls’ soccer team took a 3-0 victory over Elk Lake in a game at Mountain View on Wednesday.

Mountain View’s Jenny Molekno got scoring started for the Eagles at 19:18 with an assist from Taylor Brainard.

Megan Walker then added a goal with an assist from Melissa Walker at 61:49, and Alix Taylor finished off scoring at 71:09 with a goal off an assist from Mercedes Kromko.

Mountain View took 30 shots on goal and had 12 corners while goalie Caity Tague had three saves.

Elk Lake took four shots on goal with no corners while goalie Katie Mitchell racked up 17 saves.
