EMHS also checking response time

BY STACI WILSON

Endless Mountains Health Systems plans to carry out a full evacuation drill, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on Saturday.

Actual hospital in-patients will not be moved during the drill and care staff will remain in the building.

Blaine Dibble, EMHS emergency management director, explained a duplicate crew of actual on-duty day personnel would be part of the drill. Volunteer actors will be posing as patients requiring various levels of care, including wheelchair and walker patients, as well as some requiring critical care.

Hospital visitors will be asked if they would like to take part in the drill activities.

The entire clinic area, including actual waiting patients and staff, will be evacuated from the building.

Drill participants will be evacuated to a temporary holding area while hospital and emergency crews establish an alternative care site at the United Methodist Church.

In addition to hospital staff, agencies participating in the drill include: Susquehanna County Emergency Management; Bradford-Susquehanna EMS Council; Montrose Police; Montrose Minute Men; United Fire Company; Susquehanna County 911, Pennsylvania Dept. of Health and Montrose United Methodist Church.
