Elk Lake

Elk Lake’s girls’ soccer team took a 2-9 win over Carbondale on the road Thursday and a 1-0 victory over Montrose’s Meteors on Wednesday at Montrose.

On Thursday, Kelsey Hermick scored a goal at 37:46 in the first half to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Hermick knocked in a second goal at 77:13 to give the Warriors the 2-0 win.

Elk Lake had seven shots on goal and one corners while goalie Katie Mitchell racked up seven saves on goal.

Against Montrose, Carolyn Teetsel’s second half goal at 45:25 off an assist from Hermick was enough to help the Warriors take the win.

Elk Lake had seven shots on goal and no corners while Mitchell racked up nine saves in the game.

Montrose took 14 shots on goal and had two corners as goalie Katelyn Spellman picked up two saves.

Mountain View

Mountain View’s girls’ soccer team was handed a 4-2 loss from Lakeland on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles struck first on Thursday as Jennifer Molenko scored with an assist from Alix Taylor at 12:59 to get Mountain View on the scoreboard.

However, Lakeland scored two consecutive goals in the first half to take a 2-1 lead by the half.

After halftime, Lakeland scored again to make it 3-1, before Mountain View’s Sarah Pulice knocked in a goal with an assist from Taylor at 62:28 to bring it to 3-2.

However, Lakeland struck again at 76:04 to take the 4-2 victory.

Mountain View had 10 shots on goal and two corners while goalie Caitlyn Tague picked up 13 saves.

Montrose

The Montrose Area girls’ soccer team took a 3-0 victory over Dunmore’s Bucks on the road on Thursday.

In the first half, Montrose scored a goal as Sarah Lundy found the net with an assist from Amelia DiPhillips at 16 minutes.

After halftime, Samantha Abbot scored with an assist from DiPhillips at 41 minutes and Nicki Lewis knocked in a goal with an assist from Kassidi Ramirez at 49 minutes to lift the Meteors.

Montrose had 12 shots on goal and nine corners while goalie Katelyn Spellman picked up six saves.

Forest City

Forest City’s girls’ soccer team took a 2-1 victory over Elk Lake at home on Friday after it was handed a 5-1 loss at Lakeland on Thursday afternoon.

Against Elk Lake, Carly Erdman scored with an assist from Kylie Borick at 22 minutes to hold a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Forester Taylor Tammero knocked in a goal with an assist from Borick at 43 minutes to make it 2-0.

Elk Lake’s Carolyn Teetsel scored off a penalty kick at 53 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Forester lead.

Forest City had 22 shots on goal and eight corners while goalie Kaylie Gigliotti had four saves.

Elk Lake knocked five shots on goal with two corners as Katie Mitchell notched 13 saves.

Lakeland scored a goal at 24:13 in the first half to get ahead of the Foresters before Meagan Goben scored with an assist from Borick at 29:41 to tie up the score before halftime at 1-1.

However, In the second half, four different Lakeland players scored goals to give the Chiefs a 5-1 victory over Forest City.

The Foresters had 14 shots on goal and four corners while goalie Katie Yale racked up 10 saves.
