Forest City

Forest City’s girls’ volleyball team took a 3-1 loss against Dunmore on Thursday after it grabbed a 3-2 victory over Elk Lake on Tuesday evening.

On Thursday, the first game saw Dunmore take a 25-18 victory before Forest City would even the score at 1-1 with a 25-21 win in the second game.

Dunmore then took two consecutive wins, 25-23 and 25-22 to defeat the Foresters.

Jessica Strickland had six kills, three assists and 11 digs and Kiersten Collins added an ace, three blocks, 13 kills, six assists and six digs for Forest City.

In the first game, The Warriors took a 25-22 win over the Foresters before Forest City grabbed a 25-23 win in the second game to tie it up at one game apiece.

Elk Lake then battled back to a 25-15 win in the third game to reclaim the lead, before the Foresters would once again win to tie it up at 2-2 with a 25-19 win in the fourth.

The Foresters then finished off the Warriors with a 15-10 victory in the final game.

Collins had one block, 17 kills, three assists and three digs while Cree Townsend had four aces, nine kills and 13 digs for Forest City.

Courtney Andrews added one ace, three kills, 23 assists and four digs for the Foresters.

Cassie VanEtten had 22 digs, Chelsea Karabin had six assists, 13 digs and 19 points and Carley Bennett had seven aces for Elk Lake.

Mountain View

The Mountain View girls’ volleyball team faced a 3-1 loss at Lackawanna Trail on Thursday and a 3-2 loss from Western Wayne at home on Tuesday evening.

Against Trail, the Lions took a commanding 25-3 victory in the first game before topping the Eagles 25-22 in the second game to take a quick 2-0 lead.

Mountain View battled back with a 25-21 win in the third game to bring it to 2-1, however, Trail would take at 25-22 victory in the fourth game to finish it off.

Kayla Kazmierski had 12 kills, Christina Voorheis had 19 assists and Alex Lynn had six kills for the Eagles.

On Tuesday, the first game saw the Eagles grab a 25-18 win over the Wildcats, before Western Wayne came back to take a 25-15 win in the second to make it 1-1.

Western Wayne then took a 25-12 win in the fourth game to take the 2-1 lead, before Mountain View took a 25-18 win in the fourth to tie it up at two wins apiece.

The Wildcats then finished off Mountain View with a 15-13 win in the final game.

Lynn had nine kills and two aces, Kazmierski had seven kills, seven aces and six blocks and Voorheis had 16 assists and three aces for the Eagles.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna girls’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss from Dunmore at an away game on Tuesday night.

In the first game the Bucks defeated Susquehanna 25-19, before taking a 25-12 win in the second game to make it 2-0.

The Sabers then fell after a 25-14 win in the final game from the Bucks.

Brooke Baker had four kills and one ace and Devin Breese had seven digs for Susquehanna.

Blue Ridge

Blue Ridge’s girls’ volleyball team notched a 3-1 victory over Susquehanna on the road Thursday after it was handed a 3-0 shutout loss from Lackawanna Trail at home on Tuesday evening.

Against Susquehanna, Blue Ridge took a 25-17 win in the first contest before topping the Sabers 31-29 in the second game to hold a 2-0 lead.

Susquehanna battled to a 25-13 win in the third game, however, Blue Ridge capped off the win with a 29-27 victory in the fourth.

Ashley Warren had seven kills and 13 assists and Kailey Ragard and Courtney Ucci combined for 15 kills to lead the Raiders.

In the first game, Lackawanna Trail grabbed a 25-19 win over the Raiders, before taking the 2-0 lead with a 25-18 win in the second game.

Trail then capped off the victory with a 28-26 win over Blue Ridge in the final game.

Warren had eight assists, four kills and two blocks and Ragard had one kills and two blocks for Blue Ridge.

Montrose

The Montrose girls’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss from Western Wayne at home on Thursday.

IN the first game Western Wayne topped Montrose 25-17, before taking a 25-21 win over the Meteors in the second game.

Western Wayne then took the victory with a 29-27 win in the third game.

Marissa Robinson had two kills, eight assists, two blocks and eight digs and Katie Volk had two aces, four kills and three blocks while Brooke Malloy had eight digs for the Meteors.
