Mountain View

Mountain View’s girls’ soccer team grabbed a 1-0 win at home over Forest City on Saturday in a continuation of a rain-delayed game from Monday.

Mountain View’s Alix Taylor scored at 44:07 in the second half with an assist from Megan Walker to give the Eagles the win.

The Eagles had 11 shots on goal and four corners as goalie Caity Tague had seven saves.

Forest City took 19 shots on goal with three corners while Katie Yale had five saves.

Forest City’s girls’ soccer team took a 9-1 victory over Mid Valley on the road on Tuesday.

Forest City’s Mary Sullivan had three first half goals, assisted by Meagan Goven at 18:00, Carly Erdmann at 23 minutes and unassisted at 32:00.

Goben also scored a pair of goals of her own in the first half, assisted by Sullivan at 25 minutes and by Allysa Borick at 31 minutes.

Erdman chipped in assisted by Kylie Borick at 35 minutes and A. Borick had a goal assisted by Goben at 39 minutes to make it 7-0 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Forest City scored on an own goal and Katie Yale topped off scoring with a goal at 57 minutes with an assist from K. Borick.

Forest City had 37 shots on goal and seven corners while Yale had three saves on goal and Kaylie Gillotti had four.

Montrose

The Montrose Area girls’ soccer team picked up a 5-0 shutout over Carbondale at home on Wednesday.

Sam Abbott got things started for the Meteors with an unassisted goal at 10:28 in the first half.

Abbott then struck a second time with an assist from Amelia DiPhillips at 12:34, before Meteor Sarah Lundy would knock in the team’s third first-half goal at 17:01 with an assist from Kassidy Ramirez.

After halftime, DiPhillips found the net at 63:48, before Abbott would complete the hat track at 67:30 with an unassisted goal to cap off Montrose scoring.

Montrose had 25 shots on goal with 11 corner kicks while goalie Katelyn Spellman had four saves.
