A Liberty Twp. home was destroyed by fire Monday morning displacing a man who lived alone in the Shadow Brook Lane residence.

Homeowner Tom Frisbie was not at home when the blaze broke out.

Susquehanna County Red Cross Director Becky Naylor said the agency will be offering assistance. Frisbie is now staying with family.

Snake Creek Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze. Montrose United Fire, Hallstead and Silver Lake fire companies assisted.

The cause of the fire was not available as of press time.

The blaze was the latest in a string of fires in the area in recent days.

In addition to the Sunday blaze in Montrose that leveled a storage trailer behind the Montrose Publishing Company and spread to a nearby storage barn. Another barn, also used primarily for storage, on Williams’ Pond Rd., Bridgewater Twp., was also leveled by fire early Sunday morning, Oct. 24.

No injuries were reported in any of the fires.
