Locals compete in NCAA Regionals

A group of athletes with local connections took to the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Cross Country race held at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

The men competing ran in an 8-kilometer race, while the girls ran in a 6K.

Here is how they finished:

Gettysburg University’s Thomas Daniels, a Tunkhannock Area graduate, took 53rd place overall in the race with a time of 26:38.5.

Keystone’s Jeremy Stonier, a Tunkhannock graduate, finished 169th overall for the Giants with a 28:37, while Mike Kubus, a Forest City graduate, finished in 307th at 35:08. 

Keystone’s Jenna Fancher, a Mountain View grad took 214th overall with a time of 27:12.

Baptist Bible’s Kimberly Caines, an Elk Lake grad, finished in 213th for the Defenders with a time of 27:17.8.

Philadelphia Biblical’s Ellen Squier, an Elk Lake graduate, took 84th overall in the race with a time of 24:40. She entered as the only representative for the Crimson Eagles.

Wilkes University’s Laura Nulton, also an Elk Lake alum, finished in 245th overall for the Colonels with a time of 27:58.7.
