DeMann honored at Interfaith’s Thanksgiving

The annual Interfaith Thanksgiving dinner, held Nov. 18 at the Montrose Bible Conference, director Rachel Pratt paid homage to the woman who had planned the program in years past.

Earlier this year, Shirley DeMann who worked at Interfaith, past away, Pratt said to the nearly 100 people gathered for dinner.

Pratt said DeMann was an “inspiration” who left quite a legacy.

DeMann’s daughters, Peggy Jerauld and Debbie Bush, helped to continue their mother’s work by contributing the favors and centerpieces for the dinner.

Pratt thanked the two, who along with several other family members attended the dinner, for “carrying on their mother’s heartbeat in the community.”

“We are so blessed to be in this county,” said Pratt. “Join us in bringing on the holidays.”

Prior to dinner being served, the guests were entertained by Sue and Kelly Pratt.

The Pratt’s, along with pianist Peggy Wood, also led a sing-along of traditional favorites.

Each year, Interfaith invites area personal care home residents and people involved with NHS Human Services, Community Options and Step-By-Step Supportive Living to join in the holiday dinner.
