Extension elects new members

Susquehanna County Cooperative Extension Association held its annual meeting on Saturday, Nov. 20, prior to the Farm City Feast.

President Dave Taylor called the meeting to order and the business of the association was handled before Vice-president Matt Fearnley presented a slate of officers for board approval.

The recommended slate presented and approved included candidates for their first term: Kelly Diaz, Dorie Minintger, Cindy Reynolds, Donna Simpson and Sherman Wooden. Candidates approved for their second term were: Cherie Bonavita and Shirley Kelly.

A moment of silence was observed for two long time friends of the association. Bill Booth and Ron French who recently passed away.

The Penn State Extension annual report, presented by community development Educator Joann Kowalski is an overview of the many programs available through the County Extension office. Included in the report were: Family Resiliency; 4-H Animel Sciece Program; Dairy and Ag Enterprise Programs. This included Dairy Day, Farm Tour, Dairy Quiz Bowl; Livestock Program. These are just a few of the programs covered in this annual report.

Also serving on the full board for SCCEA are Secretary Richard Mackey; Treasurer Kay Garner; County Commissioner MaryAnn Warren; NE Regional Director Michael McDavid; Catherine Haynes; Jim Kessler, Mary Parks, Robert Supancik and Gus Wellings.
