Elk Lake’s girls’ basketball team beat Susquehanna, 40-18, in the consolation round of the Kiwanis Tip-off Tournament Saturday night in Tunkhannock, while the host Tigers took the tourney title with a 46-21 win over GAR.
In opening night action Friday, Elk Lake faced a 63-40 loss to GAR advance to the consolation game against Susquehanna.

half, before being paced 15-7 in the third and 18-12 in the fourth to take the loss.
Mazie Tyler led the Warriors with 12 points while Katie Mitchell dropped in nine and Kenzie Moon had six.
Elk Lake, however, defeated Susquehanna in the consolation game on Saturday night.
The Warriors were led by high scorer Katie Mitchell with 20 points.
In the championship game, Tunkhannock got off to a fast start pacing GAR 15-4 in the first quarter, before seeing GAR outscore them 12-5 in the second, making it a 20-16 Tiger game at the half.
After the break, Tunkhannock held GAR to no score in the third, 11-0, and finished them off with a 15-5 drubbing in the fourth quarter.
Jenna Downs scored 16 points and Kassie Williams added 14 to lead the Tigers in the title game.
Lisa Kintner added nine points while Amelia Ayers had three, and Katie Proulx and Gabby Alguire each dropped in two.
In Tunkhannock’s opener on Friday night, the Lady Tigers took a 56-5 victory over Susquehanna.
The Tigers outscored Susquehanna 22-2 in the first quarter and 22-1 in the second quarter to hold a 44-3 lead at the half.
After the break, Tunkhannock paced the Sabers 10-2 in the third and 2-0 in the fourth to take the win.
Tunkhannock was paced by Downs with 20 points while Kanesha Bonner had 12 and Kassie Williams had 10. Kintner chipped in five.
The All-Tournament team was named on Saturday and consisted of Tunkhannock’s Ayers and Downs, Elk Lake’s Katie Mitchell, GAR’s Julianna Leco and Susquehanna’s Chastity Carvin.
