A Lawton man stands accused of bringing a 13-year-old girl he met through a MySpace account across state lines to have sex with her on Oct. 7.
A felony statutory sexual assault charged was lodged Dec. 9 against Andrew Wallikas, 23, by State Trooper John Oliver in District Court, Montrose.
He was also charged with corruption of minors and indecent assault.
Pennsylvania State Police were contacted by a Binghamton, N.Y., FBI agent who was assisting Binghamton City Police with an investigation involving the teen.
Binghamton law enforcement agencies determined during the initial investigation that the incident actually occurred in Susquehanna County.
Wallikas was brought to the Gibson barracks for questioning on Dec. 9.
According to the police affidavit, Wallikas said he met the teen over the internet but that she had portrayed herself as 18-years-old and the two communicated for a couple of months before meeting in person.
When Wallikas met the teen in person in September or October of this year, he was informed by someone else that she was only 13, according to the affidavit.
According to police, Wallikas was asked to pick up the girl on Oct. 7 in Vestal, N.Y.
From there, Wallikas drove the teen to Pennsylvania where he pulled off the road near the old Forest Lake Inn and the two engaged in sexual intercourse.
Wallikas provided a written statement to police on Dec. 9 acknowledging he knew she was only 13-years-old at the time of the incident.
Wallikas waived his scheduled Dec. 31 preliminary hearing. All charges were held for court. Wallikas is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.
