The Susquehanna County Planning Commission gave final approval to a Choconut-area apartment complex at its Dec. 28, 2010 meeting.

The 24-unit, elderly housing Choconut Creek Apartments plans to open soon, said Planning Director Bob Templeton.

The apartment complex located just off Rt. 267 in Choconut Twp. was developed by the First Ward Action Council of Binghamton with funding from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.

The planning commission also approved a two-lot, non-residential subdivision of the Veronica Deffler property in Apolacon Twp.

The Susquehanna County Planning Commission meets on the last Tuesday of each month in the downstairs conference room of the county office building, Public Ave., Montrose. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m., with a work session before the meeting at 7 p.m.
