Montrose
Montrose Area’s boys’ basketball team picked up an 83-52 win over Blue Ridge on the road Friday, and a 49-40 victory over Elk Lake at home on Tuesday night.
On Friday, Montrose paced the Raiders 24-9 in the first quarter, before each team would score 13 in the second giving the Meteors a 37-22 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Montrose outscored the Raiders 20-16 before leading the way 26-14 in the fourth to take home the victory.
Bill Stranburg hit eight three-pointers and scored 32 points to lead Montrose while Colby Major added 19 points and Tom Lewis chipped in 15.
Blue Ridge was led by Alex Cardoza with 16 while Dylan Pruitt chipped in 13.
Against Elk Lake, the Meteors led the way in the first quarter with a 12-4 run over the Warriors before Elk Lake would lead 9-8 in the second giving the Meteors a 20-13 lead at the half.

In the second half, The Warriors paced Montrose 11-10 in the third, however, a 19-16 run by the Meteors in the final minutes was the difference.
Colby Major scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Meteors while Tom Lewis added 12 points and Steve Squires had six.
Rob Heft led Elk Lake with 13 points while Mark Bush and Bryan Grosvenor each had eight.
Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge’s Raider boys’ basketball team took a 61-41 victory over Susquehanna on the road on Tuesday night.

each team scored 13 in the second and Susquehanna held a 25-23 lead at the half.
However, Blue Ridge outscored the Sabers 15-9 in the third quarter and finished them off going 23-7 in the fourth.
Alex Cardoza scored 17 points and Sawyer Dearborn added 16 while Matt Principe had 10 and Dylan Pruitt chipped in nine for Blue Ridge.
Cole Mallery led Susquehanna with 14 points while Dan Biegart and Austin Cowperthwait each dropped in 10.
Elk Lake
Elk Lake’s boys’ basketball team picked up a 66-37 victory over Forest City at home on Saturday evening.
The Warriors outscored the Foresters 17-6 in the first and 21-16 in the second to hold a 38-22 lead at halftime.
After the break, each team scored 12 in the third before the Warriors would pace Forest City 16-3 in the fourth to complete the win.
Rob Heft was seven-for-10 from three point range and scored 25 points to lead the Warriors while Joe Woolcock added 11 points.
Joe Caruso scored 12 points for Forest City while Kevin Swartz added eight points.
Susquehanna
Susquehanna’s boys’ basketball team took a 40-39 victory over Mountain View on the road on Saturday evening.
The Sabers paced Mountain View 11-10 in the first quarter and 7-6 in the second to hold an 18-16 lead at the half.
After the break, the Sabers led the way in scored in the third with a 13-5 run over Mountain View, and despite a 16-9 run from the Eagles in the fourth, the Sabers held off a buzzer-beater three pointer to take the win.
Andrzej Tomcyk scored 18 points and Cole Mallery had 10 for Susquehanna.
Mountain View was led by Chris Herman with 12 points while Julian Williams had 11.
Mountain View
The Mountain View boys’ basketball team was handed a 39-29 loss from Lackawanna Trail on the road on Tuesday evening.
Trail set the pace in the first quarter, going on a 14-9 run over the Eagles, before leading the way 10-6 in the second to hold a 24-15 lead at the half.
After halftime, Trail paced Mountain View 6-2 in the third, and despite a 12-9 rally by the Eagles in the fourth, the Lions took the win.
Mountain View was led by Julian Williams with 10 points while Chris Herman chipped in eight.
Forest City
Forest City’s boys’ basketball team faced a 62-33 loss from Lakeland at home on Tuesday evening.
The game started with Lakeland topping the Foresters 19-8 in the first quarter, before going on a 20-7 run in the second to lead 39-15 at the half.
After halftime, each team scored 13 points in the third quarter, and Lakeland capped off the win with a 10-5 run in the fourth.
Forest City was led by Joe Caruso who scored 13 points while Zack Mendoza and Vince DeLucy each dropped in five.
