Montrose

The Montrose girls’ basketball team took a 51-13 victory over Blue Ridge at home on Thursday evening.

The Meteors took an early lead as they went 16-2 over the Raiders in the first quarter, and led 34-4 at halftime.

After the break, Montrose led the Raiders 12-7 in the third quarter before going on a 6-2 run in the fourth to take the victory over Blue Ridge.

Dallas Ely scored 16 points to lead Montrose while Amelia DiPhillips added 10 points and Nikki Lewis dropped in eight.

For Blue Ridge, Kristen Brown scored nine points while Ashley Warren had four.

Mountain View 

Mountain View’s girls’ basketball team faced a 58-32 loss from Mid Valley at home on Saturday after it took a 51-15 victory over Susquehanna’s Sabers on the road on

Thursday evening.

Against Mid Valley, the Eagles fell behind early as Mid Valley led then 12-8 in the first and 23-6 in the second to hold a 35-14 lead at the half.

After halftime, Mountain View and Mid Valley each scored seven in the third and Mid Valley paced the Eagles 16-11 in the fourth to take the win.

Mountain View was led by Kayla Kazmierski with nine while Megan Kress had seven and Taylor Brainard added four.

On Thursday, the Eagles led the Sabers 13-2 in the first quarter, and went 14-6 in the second to hold a 27-8 advantage over Susquehanna at halftime.

After the half, the Eagles paced Susquehanna 12-4 in the third and finished off the Sabers with a 12-3 run in the fourth.

Kazmierski scored 23 points to lead the Eagles while Alex Lynn added 12 points and Brainard chipped in four.

Mashawna Hargett scored eight points for Susquehanna while Brianna Bianco chipped in four points.

Forest City

Forest City’s girls’ basketball team took a 48-43 loss at home against Riverside on Friday after it handed Elk Lake a 60-29 loss at home on Thursday evening.

Facing Riverside, The Foresters got ahead 14-13 after the first quarter and after each team scored five in the second Forest City held a 19-18 lead at the half.

In the third, Forest City paced the Vikings 16-8, but a later 22-8 run by the Vikings in the fourth was enough to overcome an early Forester lead.

Katie Yale led Forest City with 18 points while Cassie Erdman and Kiersten Collins each had eight points.

On Thursday, the Foresters paced Elk Lake 18-9 in the first quarter before going on a 15-10 run in the second to lead the Foresters 33-19 at halftime.

After the break, Forest City continued to dominate scored as they went on a 14-4 tear in the third and capped off the win with a 13-6 run in the fourth.

Cassie Erdmann scored 16 points and Katie Yale added 13 to lead Forest City to the win. Kiersten Collins dropped in 10 points and Carly Erdmann added eight.

Mazie Tyler led Elk Lake with nine points while Taylor Watkins had four and Meaghan Bush added three.

Susquehanna

Susquehanna’s girls’ basketball team took a 72-11 loss from Crestwood at home on Saturday evening.

The Comets led the Sabers 25-2 in the first quarter and 23-4 in the second to hold a 48-6 lead at halftime.

After the break, the Comets led the way 15-2 in the third and capped off the win going 9-3 in the fourth.

Susquehanna’s was led by Mashawna Hargett with five points.
