Warriors sink Crestwood

Elk Lake’s boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams picked up a pair of wins over Crestwood at home on Thursday.

The Warrior girls grabbed 101-85 win as Abby Zdancewicz set a school record in the 200 IM at 2:31.42, while the boys’ team picked up a 93-54 victory over the Comets.

First place finishes on the girls’ side came from Zdancewicz in the 200 IM at 2:31.42 and 500 free at 5:57.44, Rina Nikolaidis in the 50 free at :27.73, Stephanie LaPera in diving, Chelsea Karabin in the 100 free at :59.52, the 200 free relay team of Nikolaidis, Emmie Gibson, Maria Trowbridge and Karabin at 1:52.49 and the 400 free relay team of Bri Hollenbeck, Gibson, Heather Wimmer and Zdancewicz at 4:33.97.

Seconds were recorded by the 200 medley relay team (Zdancewicz, Karabin, Hollenebeck, Nikolaidis), Rachel Grosvenor (100 fly and 200 free), Wimmer (diving), Nikolaidis (100 back) and Karabin (100 breast).

Thirds came from Hannah Cave (200 free), Gibson (50 and 100 free), Wimmer (500 free), the 200 free relay team of (Riley, Farnelli, Wimmer, Cave) and the 400 free relay team (Trowbridge, Grosvenor, Hamernick, Cave).

On the boys’ side, firsts came from Adam Phillips in the 200 free at 1:52.50 and 500 free at 5:19.16, Dylan Simmons in diving, Alex Manzek in the 100 free at 1:01.25, the 200 free relay team of Cody Mowry, Manzek, Jon Krieg and Phillips at 1:39.90, Mowry in the 100 back at 1:08.39 and the 400 free relay team of Brad Grosvenor, Manzek, Krieg and Mowry at 3:59.77.

Seconds were recorded by the 200 medley relay team ((Sterner, Jordan, Grosvenor, Malloy), Chris Jordan (200 IM), Grosvenor (50 free and 100 fly), Krieg (100 free), Jordan (100 breast) and the 400 free relay team (Phillips, Malloy, Jordan, Sterner).

Thirds came from Mowry (200 free), Chris Hollenbeck (50 free), Sterner (100 fly), Malloy (500 free) and Manzek (100 breast).
