The Montrose baseball team faced elimination in the first round of the District II Class AA playoffs as Dunmore handed the Meteors a 6-3 loss.
The Meteors got ahead early in the game with a single run in the first inning, before Dunmore would take a 3-1 lead after the top of the second.
Montrose evened the score at three in the bottom of the second, however, Dunmore kept the runs coming with one in the third and two more in the fifth while holding the Meteors scoreless to take the win.
Casey O’Reilly led Montrose with a pair of hits, including a double, and Mike Rapisardi had a pair of RBIs and a single.
Matt Hohn and Dan Simonds each added a single and a run scored for Montrose in the loss.
Rapisardi took the pitching loss giving up five hits, one earned run and three walks with a strikeout in two and a third innings.
The Meteors end their season with an 8-6 record.
