Raiders bumped from playoffs

The Blue Ridge baseball team was defeated on Thursday at Old Forge by the Blue Devils, 9-0, in the semifinal game of the District II Class A playoffs.

The Raiders couldn’t overcome the tenacious Blue Devil offense as Old Forge scored five runs in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth to notch the shutout victory.

Jesse Pruitt doubled as one of Blue Ridge’s three hits in the contest.

Chris Zawiski was the losing pitcher for the Raiders as he gave up three hits, five earned runs and a walk in one and a third innings on the mound.
