Planning Commission seeks info on compressor station changes

BY STACI WILSON

The Planning Commission wants more information about changes made during the building of a compressor station in Springville Twp. that differ from the plan that received preliminary approval in 2009.

The group tabled granting final approval at the May 31 meeting of Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation’s Lathrop compressor station plan until the company explains the changes.

County planner Bob Templeton said the preliminary plan included the compressor station building with an addition to the building marked as something to be built at a later date.

That addition has already been completed by the company.

The commission also wants the gas company to explain why certain pieces of equipment were moved, added and deleted from the preliminary plan.

Templeton said some water tanks were removed, and an additional dehydration unit was installed.

He also said all of the equipment is contained within the company’s original planned fenced in area. Templeton added that the changes made do not encroach on any neighboring properties anymore than the plan which received the commission’s preliminary approval.

The construction of a stand-alone Rite-Aid store in Bridgewater Twp. received final approval from the commission.

A ribbon cutting event is planned to be held on Thursday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. to mark the store’s opening.

The Katie Pipeline Meter Station, in Auburn Twp., for Canfield Development, Stone Energy Corp., was granted preliminary approval.

Scott Lonzinski also received preliminary approval for a commercial land development plan in Great Bend Twp.

The county planning commission meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the lower level conference room of the County Office Building, Montrose.
