Eagles return solid team

Mountain View’s boys’ soccer team is returning for a new season after making it to the PIAA Class A quarterfinal game in 2010, and are looking to make a return.

Coach Roger Thomas said the team is returning a strong squad and adding solid newcomers and look to improve on last season’s record.

“With such a strong returning squad and the power of newcomers we expect an improvement over last year’s regular season,” Thomas said. “And we hope for continued success in post season play.”

The team lost three of four starting defensive backs, their starting goalkeeper, three midfielders and a forward to graduation, but Thomas is confident in the Eagles’ returning players.

Thomas said he will look to center back Dylan Thomas, defenseman Colin Davis, along with freshmen Zeb Cross and Ed Bognatz to be solid for the Eagle team.

The Eagles will however have to get by league powerhousesAbingtonHeights, Scranton Prep andDelawareValleyto make another push in the postseason.

The Mountain View boys’ varsity soccer team is comprised of seniors Nathan Chipelo, Jon Chipelo, Joe Jarrow, Joel Madas, Nathan Moyer, Gary Smith, Bradley Owens, Mike Lamberson and Ryan Lahnamen, juniors Colin Davis, Jordan Roeske, Dylan Thomas and Nathan Goodenough, sophomores Colby Thomas, Bobby Pfahl, Zack Feduchak and Nick Jarrow.
