Lady Foresters eye division title

The Forest City girls’ soccer team is returning to the field after a 7-2-2 finish in Lackawanna League Division II under coach Ken Goben.

Goben said that he believes it is going to be a solid year for the Foresters.

“This is going to be a great year for us,” Goben said. “I think we took the league by surprise last year and proved that we are a competitive strong team.”

Goben said that he believes theForestCityteam is the favorite to win Division II and that despite losing some physically strong seniors, the Foresters still have plenty of talent.

“We lost some physically strong seniors last year,” Goben said. “However, we will play with better technique and conditioning this year.”

The Foresters return seniors Taylor-Ray Tammero and Kara Zerby, juniors Kylie Borick, Kylie Besz, Katherine Pecko and Kaylie Gigliotti and sophomores Meagan oben, Carly Erdmann and Samantha Greabner to the starting lineup this year and will look to them for a solid experienced core of players.

Forest City’s girls’ varsity soccer team is comprised of seniors Tammero and Zerby, juniors Borick, Besz, Pecko, Gigliotti, Alyssa Peters, Samantha Carey and Kirsten Baileys, sophomores Goben, Erdmann, Greabner, Mackenzie Keller, Kristine Komar, Michaela Konzman, Michaela Martines, Victoria Corey, Katie O’Neill and Cassandra Bendyk and freshmen Jamie Walsh, Kaitlyn Zembrzycki, Abby Westgate, Madison McGraw, Elizabeth Kelly and Morgan Gasper.
