Austin Seamon took the game’s second play from scrimmage 65 yards for a touchdown andDunmoremotored to a 42-0 victory over Montrose.

Seamon averaged nearly 14 yards per carry on a muddy field, finishing with 138 yards on the ground with three touchdowns.

Dunmore(4-0) turned defense into offense for their second score of the game, blocking a Montrose (0-4) punt that Corey Coviello returned 44 yards for a touchdown. The Bucks failed to convert the extra point for the second straight time, and took a 12-0 lead.

Montrose failed to get a ground attack moving early in the game, going three-and-out on its first three offensive series.

The short drives allowed theDunmoreoffense to stay on the field and get in a rhythm.

“They’re a very good football team. They’re not going to beat themselves and we didn’t create any opportunities to beat them,” Montrose head coach Russell Canevari said.

With just under five minutes to play in the first quarter,Dunmorequarterback Jordan Dempsey connected with Josh Zilla for a 27-yard touchdown, and Daiqwon Buckley powered his way past the goal line for the two-point conversion, putting the Bucks up by 20.

Dempsey completed two of his five passes on the night, the other being a 29-yard strike to John Rinaldi that set up Seamon’s second score of the game in the second quarter.

But it wasDunmore’s running game that propelled the team, racking up 351 yards and pushing them to a 34-0 lead at halftime.

Evan Castrogiovanni led Montrose with 87 yards on 13 carries, while Nate Clark also added 61 yards out of the backfield.
