The Montrose Area golf team picked up an 8.5-.5 victory over Holy Cross at Montrose Country Club on Friday afternoon to move ahead in the District II playoffs.
The Meteors used their home-course edge, wrapping up four of six singles matches by the seventh hole.
In individual play, Jordan Smith (M) over Scott Kearney, 3 and 2; Mason Legg (M) over Dom Mancinelli, 3 and 2; Cameron Dean (M) over Joey Baurys, 2 and 1; Lance Nealey (M) over J.J. Ruby, 4 and 3; Selena Cerra (HC) split with Matt Sobiech (M); Casey O’Reilly (M) over Emily Okrepkie, 3 and 2.
In better-ball, Smith-Legg (M) over Kearney-Mancinelli, 4 and 2; Dean-Nealey (M) over Baurys-Ruby, 3 and 2; Sobiech-O’Reilly (M) over Cerra-Okrepkie, 2 and 1.
