Wright named MAHS Athlete of Week

Taylor Wright is a field hockey player for the Montrose Area School District. She has been nominated for the athlete of the week. In her first season playing the position of goalie in field hockey,

In the last week of the season, Taylor averaged 14 saves per game against the top three teams in the league. Following the school’s games, numerous coaches acknowledged they were impressed with the goalie’s skills.

Brianna Strope, Taylor’s field hockey coach, noted,  “Taylor has exceeded the expectations of both her coach and teammates.  In two months Taylor has developed the demanding skills necessary for a goalie which are often developed over the course of multiple seasons.”

Taylor’s parents are Jeffrey and Wendy Wright. The athlete of the week is sponsored by McDonald’s in Montrose.
