Montrose Area’s girls’ basketball team grabbed a 41-23 victory over Valley View at Montrose on Friday night.
Dallas Ely scored 30 points to lead the fifth-ranked Lady Meteors in a convincing win.
Montrose jumped out to a 19-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as Ely knocked down five three-pointers.
Also chipping in for the Lady Meteors were Myra Lattimore with four points, Megan Gilhool with two, Brooke Malloy with two, Sara Krupinski with two and Nikki Lewis with one point.

Mountain View
TheMountain Viewgirls’ basketball team faced a 65-26 to Holy Cross in a game played inDunmoreon Friday night.
The Lady Eagles fell behind 18-2 after the first quarter and were at a 35-10 deficit by halftime.
The Crusaders then outscored the Eagles 14-8 in the third and 16-8 in the fourth.
“We didn’t execute tonight,”Mountain Viewcoach Jason Nese said. “We were outplayed, out-hustled. It may have been first-game jitters. I started a bunch of girls that didn’t have a ton of varsity experience from last year.
“We ran into a team that wanted it more than we did, but it’s the first game. We’ll be ready for Tuesday.”
Putting in top scoring efforts for Mountain View were Megan Kress with nine points, Paige Seymour with five points, M. Phillips with four points and Mackenzie Whitaker with four points.
Blue Ridge
The Blue Ridge Lady Raider girls’ basketball team faced a 53-17 loss to Sayre on Friday night in the opening game of the Sayre Tip-off Tournament.
Sayre paced the Raiders 10-7 in the first quarter and 13-1 in the second to hold a 23-8 lead overBlue Ridgeat the half.
In the second half, Sayre dominated the Raiders 14-4 in the third and 16-5 in the fourth to take home the win.
Ashley Warren ledBlue Ridgewith seven points while Jackie Furch had six.
