The Susquehanna Community Development Association working with St. John’s Men’s Club served the biggest crowd ever at their annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning, December 10.

It was reported 400 breakfasts were served with lots of moms, dads and grandparents accompaning the children for their visit with Santa.

Those in charge of taking individual photos of the children said the highest number of photos taken with Santa was 80, this year the number exceeded 150. Besides the free photo each child was offered a gift.

This year Santa was pleasantly surprised when Rebecca Haley, Payton and Cammy Sellitto showed up for their photos and presented him with gifts. One of the last to visit Santa was a young girl in a wheelchair. Santa lifted her to his lap so she could have a photo taken with him. As he placed her back in her wheelchair he removed his hat and gave it to her.

SCDA Events Committee posted a list of sponsors that gave generously to the Tree Lighting and Breakfast with Santa.

Brooklyn and Harper Cook the children of April Cook spent a few minutes with Santa following breakfast at St. John's Parish Center. The Cook children were accompanied by their Great-grandmother Carol, Grandmother Gina and mother April.

A big “thank you” was extended to St. John’s Men’s Club; Ron and Carol Dubas of Schneider’s Market; Dollar General; Barnes Kasson Hospital; Nellie Jane DeWitt BPW; American Legion Auxiliary and the residents of Turnpike Terrace and Friends of Susquehanna County.

A thank you was also aimed at Don DeWitt who played an integral part in the event with a “Ho Ho Ho” heard coming from his direction.
