Blue Ridge boys top Warriors

The Blue Ridge boys’ basketball team took a 50-45 victory over Elk Lake in Dimock on Wednesday night in the DivisionIIIopener.

The Raiders got off to a strong start in the first half, pacing Elk Lake 15-12 in the first quarter and 11-5 in the second to hold a 26-17 lead at halftime.

In the second half, each team scored nine points in the third quarter, and despite a 19-15 run by the Warriors in the fourth, Blue Ridge took the win.

Jesse Pruitt scored 15 points and Chris Carlsen added 12 to lead Blue Ridge while Sawyer Dearborn had 10 points for the Raiders.

Pacing Elk Lake was Rob Heft with a game-high 17 points while Tanner Reyan had 10 points, Tyler Arnold had nine and Pete McGee added four.

Montrose

The Montrose boys’ basketball team took home a 53-51 victory over Lackawanna Trail on the road on Wednesday night.

The Lions got out to an early lead outscoring the Meteors 16-10 in the first quarter. However, Montrose answered back with a 19-6 run in the second to take a 29-22 lead over Trail by halftime.

After the break, both teams scored 16 in the third, and despite a 13-8 run by Lackawanna Trail in the fourth, Montrose held on to win.

Colby Major scored 22 points to lead Montrose in the DivisionIIIvictory while Cameron Dean added 16 points and Tom Lewis had eight. Corey Adams added seven.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna Saber boys brought home a 52-33 victory over Forest City on the road on Wednesday night.

The Sabers took an early lead with a 15-10 run in the first and a 12-8 run in the second to hold a 27-18 lead by the half.

Each team scored nine in the third and after a 19-9 fourth quarter for the Sabers, they sealed the win.

added six and Brandon Soden added five.

Pacing Forest City was David Cavalieri with 12 and Dylan Walsh with eight while Matt Nevins added six.

Mountain View

Mountain View’s boys’ basketball team took a 75-52 loss from Lakeland on the road on Wednesday night.

The Eagles fell behind early as the Chiefs paced them 15-10 in the first and 18-8 in the second to see Mountain View at a 33-18 deficit at the half.

In the second half, Lakeland paced Mountain View 22-17 in the third and after the Eagles outscored Lakeland 17-16 in the fourth, the Chiefs took home the W.

Nate Chipelo led the way for Mountain View with 19 points while Joel Madas had 16 and Dylan Bradley scored eight.
