Forest City’s girls’ basketball team picked up a 47-35 victory overElkLakein a Lackawanna League DivisionIIImatchup in Dimock on Thursday night.
ForestCityjumped out to an early lead over the Warriors, 17-5 after the first quarter, and despite a 12-5 run fromElkLakein the second, held a 22-17 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Warriors took the lead with a 13-4 run in the third, however, a 21-5 scoring drive from the Foresters in the fourth sealed the win.
The Foresters were led by Carly Eardmann with 23 points, including five three pointers, while Liz Heller added 10 points and Katie Zembrzyski added four.
ElkLakewas led by Meghan Bush with nine points while Casey Tyler scored nine and Taylor Watkins dropped in eight points.
Montrose
Montrose’s Lady Meteor basketball team grabbed a 50-24 victory atBlue Ridgeon Thursday evening.
The Meteors paced the Raiders through the first two quarters, 13-2 and 13-8 to hold a 26-10 lead by halftime.
After the break, the Meteors outscored the Raiders 12-7 in each of the third and fourth to take the victory.
Dallas Ely scored a game-high 20 points to lead Montrose while Myra Lattimore dropped in nine and Sara Krupinski and Katie Stranburg each had five points.
Ashley Warren ledBlue Ridgewith 11 points while Jessica Jhingoor had five.
Mountain View
TheMountain Viewgirls’ basketball team defeated Susquehanna at home on Thursday night by a score of 62-33.
The Lady Eagles got an early lead outscoring Susquehanna 14-8 in the first and 13-8 in the second to pace the Sabers 27-16 at halftime.
After the break,Mountain Viewcontinued to lead the way with an 18-8 run in the third and then capped the game with a 17-9 run in the fourth.
Megan Kress ledMountain Viewwith 20 points, five blocks and six rebounds while Victoria Sterling added 10 points and Dominique Chadwick and Caity Tague each had six rebounds.
Ashley Dubanowitz led Susquehanna with eight points while Emily Carmody had six and Mashawna Hargett had five points.
Susquehanna
The Susquehanna girls’ basketball team was handed a 70-23 loss by Crestwood on the road on Saturday in a non-league game.
The Comets got out to an early lead over the Sabers in the first with a 26-4 run, before holding a 45-10 lead over Susquehanna by halftime.
After the break, Crestwood outscored the Sabers 15-6 in the third and 10-7 in the fourth to seal the win.
Amber Dubanowitz paced Susquehanna with six points and teammate Sara Serfilippi finished up with five points.
