The Montrose Area girls’ basketball team picked up a 56-28 win over Elk Lake on Friday night after it handed Lackawanna Trail a 63-39 loss on Wednesday night at Tunnel Hill.
Against Elk Lake, the teams battled to a 9-9 first quarter before Montrose would get a lead going into halftime with a 12-4 second quarter.
Leading 21-13 at the start of the third, Montrose poured on 20 points asElkLakescored eight in the third and capped the win with a 16-4 run in the fourth.
Dallas Ely scored a game-high 23 points and Sara Krupinski added 12 to lead the Meteors. Ashlee Lattner chipped in six points and Megan Gilhool and Sam Dixon each had five.
ElkLakewas paced by Meghan Bush with seven points while Kenzie Moon added six.
On Wednesday, the Meteors paced Trail 17-14 in the first and 22-9 in the second to hold a 39-23 lead by halftime.
In the third, the Meteors led Lackawanna Trail 12-8 and then capped off the game with a 12-8 run in the fourth quarter.

Montrose was paced by Dallas Ely’s game-high 34 points that included five three-pointers to lead the Meteors. Myra Lattimore scored nine, Ashley Lattner chipped in six and Megan Gilhool and Brooke Malloy each had four points.
Blue Ridge
TheElkLakegirls’ basketball team took a 34-28 victory overBlue Ridgein a Lackawanna League Division III game on Tuesday night.
The Warriors got ahead 10-2 after the first quarter and a carried a 16-3 lead going into halftime.
In the third,Blue Ridgecame back with a 15-7 run over the Warriors, however,ElkLakesealed the win with an 11-8 run in the fourth.
Meghan Bush scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Warriors while Sara Kwiatkowski added seven points and Taylor Watkins and Casey Tyler each dropped in five.
Blue Ridgewas paced by Kristen Brown with 13 points while Ashley Warren and Jackie Furch each had six.
Forest City
TheForestCitygirls’ basketball team faced a 48-38 loss toLakelandon the road Friday after it took a 65-31 victory over Susquehanna at home on Wednesday night.
AgainstLakeland, the Foresters got ahead early with a 14-8 run in the first and held a 23-14 lead by halftime.
However, a big second half forLakelanddoomed the Foresters as they were outscored 17-9 in the third and 17-6 in the fourth to take the loss.
Cassandra Bendyk scored a game-high 18 points forForestCitywhile Megan Saul chipped in nine and Carly Erdmann added eight.
On Wednesday, the Foresters got an early lead over the Sabers and never looked back as they paced Susquehanna 19-7 in the first and held a 38-13 lead by halftime.
In the second half, the Foresters outscored Susquehanna 12-10 in the third and 15-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Bendyk scored a game-high 20 points and Erdmann added 10 to lead the Foresters. Saul and Taylor Tammero each had nine.
Mashawna Hargett was top scorer for Susquehanna with 13 points while Sara Serfilippi and Emily Carmody each added six.
Mountain View
TheMountain Viewgirls’ basketball team took a 44-39 loss to Lackawanna Trail on Friday after it was handed a loss fromLakelandon the road on Wednesday evening.
Facing Trail, the Eagles fell behind early as the Lions outscored them 11-10 in the first and 8-7 in the second to face a 19-17 deficit at the half.
In the third quarter Trail outscoredMountain View13-10 and after a 12-12 fourth, the Eagles took the loss.
Melissa Monahan ledMountain Viewwith nine points and Caity Tague had eight points and eight rebounds.
AgainstLakeland, the Eagles fell behind early as the Lady Chiefs outscored them 19-10 in the first quarter.Lakelandthen held a 26-16 advantage by halftime.
In the second half,LakelandpacedMountain View19-4 in the third and 17-12 in the fourth to take home the victory.
Megan Kress led the Eagles in the loss with 10 points while Monahan scored six and Victoria Sterling had five points.
Susquehanna
The Susquehanna Lady Saber basketball team took a 48-45 victory overBlue Ridgeon the road on Friday night.
The Raiders got out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter and paced Susquehanna in the second to hold a 30-15 lead by halftime.
In the third, Susquehanna struck back with a 17-0 third quarter and capped off the victory as they paced the Raiders 16-15 in the fourth.
Mashawna Hargett scored a game-high 18 points to pace the Sabers while Brianna Bianco dropped in 10 and Amber Dubanowitz had eight.
Blue Ridgewas led by Ashley Warren with 13 points while Jenna Rupakus had 10 and Kristen Brown scored eight.
