Eagles spike Forest City, Blue Ridge

The Mountain Viewboys’ volleyball team grabbed a 3-1 win overBlue Ridgeon the road Thursday and took a 3-1 victory overForestCityat home on Tuesday evening.

Against Blue Ridge, the Eagles won the first set 25-15 before winning the second 25-14. However,Blue Ridgecame back to take a 25-20 win in the third set. But, Mountain View sealed the win with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.

Brad Owens had 21 kills, Michael Lamberson had 13 kills and Nathan Moyer had 45 assists and two blocks forMountain View. Jake Heller added six kills and three blocks.

For Blue Ridge, Austin French had 17 assists, Tama Galu-Edgar added four kills and 33 digs and Mike Gathany had five kills and seven digs.

On Tuesday, the Eagles took a 25-23 win in the first set before falling 30-28 in the second.Mountain Viewthen won two consecutive sets, 25-19 and 25-23, to take the victory.

Owens had 21 kills and 15 digs and Lamberson had seven kills, eight digs and two aces to leadMountain View.

Moyer had 39 assists and two blocks for the winners and Austin Mack had four kills, 11 digs and two aces.

Elk Lake

ElkLake’s boys’ volleyball team faced a 3-1 loss at home from Lackawanna Trail on Thursday after it took a 3-2 loss fromWestern Wayneon the road on Tuesday evening.

Against Trail, The Warriors won the first set, 26-24, before the Lions won the next three sets to take the victory.

Lackawanna Trail won the second set 25-13, before winning 25-16 and 25-15 to complete the win.

ForElkLake, Dan Noldy had seven kills and 10 digs while Aric Curry had five kills and three blocks.

On Tuesday, the Warriors fell behind 1-0 after the first set but tied things up with a 25-22 win in the second.ElkLaketook a 2-1 lead with a 25-22 win in the third set.

However,Western Waynewon the last two sets, 25-21 and 15-11 to down the Warriors.

Melvin Routehad nine kills and seven blocks, Noldy had seven kills and Jared Berg contributed 10 assists, three kills and seven blocks.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna boys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss fromAbingtonHeightsat home on Tuesday.

The Sabers fell behind early as Abington topped them 25-23 in the first set. The Comets then defeated Susquehanna 25-9 in the second set and 25-21 in the third to take the victory.

Luke Falletta had four kills and three blocks to lead Susquehanna in the loss.

Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge boys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss from Lackawanna Trail in a Lackawanna League match held at home on Tuesday evening.

Blue Ridgefell behind early as Trail took a 25-12 win in the first set. The Lions then topped the Raiders 25-11 in the second set, and 25-15 in the third to seal the win.

Blue Ridgefell to 0-5 on the season.

Forest City

TheForestCityboys’ volleyball team handed Susquehanna a 3-1 loss in a match held in Susquehanna on Thursday.

The Foresters won the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-18 before Susquehanna came back to win the third set 26-24. However,ForestCitycapped the win with a 25-20 win in the final set.

Dylan Walsh had 13 kills and Ryan Long had 12 assists to lead the Foresters. Dave Cavalieri and Wade Loomis each had seven kills.

For Susquehanna, Mike Frye had five kills and 16 assists for Susquehanna, Steven Frye had nine kills and five blocks and Cody Dibble had 26 digs.
