Charges lodged against a Springville man, including giving a minor alcohol, will move to the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas after he waived his preliminary hearing Monday in Montrose District Court.

He appeared in front of District Judge Jeffrey Hollister.

Vanvleck allegedly arrived atStrickland Hill Rd.residence in Springville and became irate and confrontational with two women inside the home.

According to the affidavit, Vanvleck kicked in the door, breaking its window and threw a table lamp. While Vanvleck wrestled with one woman on the floor, the other grabbed an empty shotgun in an effort to stop the attack.

Police said Vanvleck grabbed the gun barrel and stuck it in his mouth, causing an injury to himself.

According to the affidavit, Vanvleck said, “Shoot me. You don’t have the balls,” to the woman.

He then tried to grab another weapon from the gun cabinet but he was fought off by the women and he fled the residence.

The women told police Vanvleck was intoxicated at the time of the altercation and was driving a van with two juveniles in it that had been involved in an earlier crash in Clifford Twp. State police troopers confirmed the crash with Clifford Police.

In a separate case, Vanvleck also faces a charge of aggravated assault while DUI; and several other counts, including furnishing alcohol to a minor, stemming from a Dec. 13, 2011 crash in Dimock Twp.

Vanvleck waived a March 26 preliminary hearing in Montrose District Court on those charges.
