PNB shareholders meet

Peoples Neighborhood Bank andPNB’s Financial Services shareholders held their annual meeting on April 28 at Shadowbrook Inn, Tunkhannock.

At this meeting Earle A. Wootton, chairman of the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, and Alan W. Dakey, President and CEO ofPNB, were elected  directors for a three-year term. Wootton and Dakey join directors: William Aubrey, II, President and CEO of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates; Joseph T. Wright Jr., partner in Wright and Reihner; George H. Stover Jr., owner of Stover Appraisal Services; Richard S. Lochen Jr., partner in Lochen and Chase, Certified Public Accoiuntants;  and Ronald G. Kukuchka, President of Ace Robbins.

Roxanne Connelly served as judge of election with meeting secretary Debra Dissinger reporting the shares voted.
Recognized as Director Emeriti were: John Ord, Gerald Pennay, Carl Pease, and Robert Reddon.

Associate directors represent a wide area of the business community in Susquehanna, Wyoming and Lackawanna Counties in Pennsylvania and Broome County in New York State: Scott Andre, Sandra Boyle, Gerald Burke. Donald Button, James Calvey, Mark Carpenter, Thomas Cawley, Carol Engle, Scott Farr, Wilma Gay, Richard Hennessey, Lynn Joines, Michael Karhnak, John Kwiatkowski, Robert Madigan, Jr., Justin Marchuska,III, Robert Robinson, William Ruark, Helen Smith, Janeen  Sutryk, Charles Snyder, Douglas Thomas.

Dakey expressed optimism about the opportunities in 2012 as first quarter earnings increased by 34 percent over the prior year.

“The bank continues to benefit from deposits and loan growth resulting from Marcellus Shale activity in its primary markets,” Dakey said.PNBis one of the only true local community banks serving these markets,” the CEO said.

In 2011 the bank was recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Pa and also as one of the Top 100 Community Banks for its financial performance.
