The Mountain Viewboys’ volleyball team took a 3-1 win over Susquehanna at home on Thursday after the team downedBlue Ridge3-1 on Tuesday evening on the road.
On Thursday,Mountain Viewtook wins in the first two sets 25-13 and 25-19 before facing a 25-22 loss in the third to make it a 2-1 match. However,Mountain Viewcapped the win with a 25-10 win in the fourth set.
Nathan Moyer recorded two aces, one block and 23 assists as he reached the 1,000 assist plateau for the Eagles.
Gary Smith added five kills, six digs and one ace, Michael Lamberson added nine kills, six digs and three aces and Bradley Owens had nine kills, 14 digs and one ace.
Luke Valentine led Susquehanna with 10 kills and two blocks, Doug Bishop had six kills and Mike Frye had 12 assists.
Against Blue Ridge, the Eagles got an early 2-0 lead with wins in the first and second sets, 25-21 and 25-23.Blue Ridgethen won the third set 25-17 to make it 2-1, however,Mountain Viewtook the fourth set 28-25 to seal the win.
Owens made 14 kills and had 15 digs and Lamberson added 12 kills and 15 digs forMountain View.
Moyer had 32 assists, six digs and two kills for the Eagles.
Forest City
TheForestCityboys’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss to Lackawanna Trail at home on Thursday after the Foresters took a 3-2 victory over Susquehanna on the road on Tuesday.
Against Trail, the Foresters were defeated 25-12, 25-13 and 25-20 in three consecutive sets.
Dave Cavalieri ledForestCitywith seven kills and three blocks while Wayde Loomis had five kills and Dylan Walsh added eight blocks.
On Tuesday, the Sabers got ahead with a 25-23 win in the first set before the Foresters would even it up 1-1 with a 25-18 win in the second.
Susquehanna then won the third set, 25-18, andForestCityanswered back with a 25-20 win in the fourth to make it 2-2. The Foresters then capped the victory with a 16-14 triumph in the fifth set.
Dave Cavalieri had 10 kills and three aces, Logan McHale contributed 10 assists, Dylan Walsh had seven kills and five blocks forForestCity.
Zack Vaughn led Susquehanna with 15 kills and eight blocks.

Elk Lake
The Elk Lake boys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss atAbingtonHeightson Thursday after it faced a 3-0 loss from Lackawanna Trail on the road on Tuesday night.
Facing Abington, The Comets defeated Elk Lake 25-16, 25-16 and 25-15 in three consecutive sets to hand the Warriors the loss.
Cody Fransen had 10 points, Jared Berg had four blocks and Mason Maye had three kills to pace Elk Lake.
Against Trail, the Lions took the first set 25-15, before posting a 25-7 win in the second. Trail then finished off the Warriors with a 25-18 victory in the final set.
Aric Curry pacedElkLakewith five kills and Maye had three kills.
Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge’s boys’ volleyball team faced a 3-1 loss toWestern Wayneon the road on Thursday.
The Raiders lost the first set 25-14 before taking a 25-21 win in the second. However,Western Wayneposted wins 25-14 and 25-12 in the next two sets to take the win.
