A Susquehanna man is accused of raping a child at a Dimock Twp. residence.
Kevin Sjogren, 47, was interviewed by police on July 8. According to the affidavit filed by Tpr. Mark Keyes, Sjogren told police he had sex with the child before her 13th birthday and two times after her birthday in his vehicle after she turned 13.
He also told police that hisDNAwould probably be found on the child’s underwear.
Sjogren provided a written statement to police admitting his part in the incidents, including one incident on July 7. According to the affidavit, he also told police the child was “very promiscuous” and had initiated the sexual encounters with him.
On July 8, the victim reported the incidents to police. According to the affidavits, the incidents occurred in a Dimock Twp. residence where Sjogren was staying and in his vehicle. According to the victim, at least five sexual incidents had occurred between June 1 and July 7.
A sexual assault kit was completed on July 8. The kit will be submitted forDNAtesting. Results of those tests are pending.
In addition to the child rape count, Sjogren also faces five counts of statutory sexual assault; one count of aggravated indecent assault on a person under the age of 13; and one misdemeanor count of indecent assault of a person under the age of 13.
Sjogren is being held on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 16.
