Pair plead in burglaries

TwoSusquehannaCountymen both admitted to stealing money, vehicles and firearms in a string of 2010 burglaries.

Joel Lehr Jr, 24, Hallstead, and Scott Evans, 28, Montrose, entered guilty pleas to three burglary counts and one theft count – all felonies – Friday in Susquehanna County Court.

Both men face a maximum prison sentence of 37 years. As part of the plea deal, however, District Attorney Jason Legg said it was agreed that both men would receive concurrent sentences.

In May 2010, Lehr and Evans stole two ATVs and a dirt bike from a garage on the Clifford Johnson property in New Milford Twp.

On June 7-8, 2010, they took about $200 in cash from the North Main Grill and the business sustained about $500 worth of damage.

A 1995 Jeep Cherokee was stolen June 28, 2010, from Jerry’s Garage, in Clifford Twp. The vehicle was later found burned inLackawannaCounty.

The following day, June 29, 2010, firearms and cash were stolen from the Beacon Bar & Grill.

Evans is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 20 by President Judge Kenneth Seamans. Lehr is slated to appear for sentencing on Oct. 18.
