The preliminary hearings scheduled for Monday morning for the Ararat Twp. father and son implicated in the death of estranged wife and mother, Sharon Glover, were continued.
Donald Glover Sr., 51, is accused of shooting his wife in the head with a .38 caliber handgun after the two argued.
Glover Sr. told police, according to the affidavit, his estranged wife had left him about eight weeks prior to the August 31 shooting and was living with another man. He also told police he had asked her to come to the Way Lake Rd. home to discuss bankruptcy issues.
Glover Sr. has been charged with criminal homicide and is being held, without bail, in the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility.
Donald Glover Jr., 27, who shares the same address as his father, has also been implicated in his mother’s death.
According to the criminal complaint, both father and son initially told police Sharon Glover had fired first at Glover Sr. Her body was found by police in the driveway, holding a handgun in her hand.
Glover Jr. later changed his story to police, admitting he took his mother’s “derringer-style” handgun from the glove compartment of her vehicle; fired it once and then placed it in her hand to make it look like she had taken a shot at his father, according to the affidavit.
He has been charged with tampering with/fabricating evidence and hindering apprehension – conceal or destroy evidence in connection with the incident.
Glover Jr. was released from the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility on Thursday, Sept. 6, on unsecured bail.
Preliminary hearings for both men in New Milford District Court were continued to Monday, Oct. 15.
