Lady Sabers knock Trail, WW

The Susquehanna girls’ volleyball team handedWestern Waynea 3-0 loss on the road Thursday after the Sabers defeated Lackawanna Trail in a decisive 3-0 match at home on Tuesday night.

AgainstWestern Wayne, Susquehanna took 26-24, 25-20 and 25-22 victories over the Wildcats.

Sarah Serfillippi had 13 blocks, 11 points and six kills and Alexis Roe had seven kills and eight blocks to lead Susquehanna.

Nicole Barnes added 12 points, 13 assists and 12 digs while Devin Breese had 10 points, three kills, eight digs and three blocks.

On Tuesday, The Sabers defeated Trail in straight sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17.

Danielle Barnes had seven kills and 13 digs and Nicole Barnes had eight digs and eight assists to lead Susquehanna.

Serfilippi added three kills, two aces and four blocks for the Lady Sabers, while Amber Dubanowitz had four kills and five digs.

Elk Lake

TheElkLakegirls’ volleyball team handedBlue Ridgea 3-0 loss on the road on Thursday after defeating Montrose 3-0 in a home match played on Tuesday evening.

AgainstBlue Ridge, the Warriors topped the Raiders 25-12, 25-16 and 25-14 to complete the victory.

Kelsey Caines had eight kills and three blocks and Lacey Cook had three kills and eight aces to leadElkLake.

Michaela Boner added four kills and four aces for the Warriors while Carly Bennett had five kills, two blocks and two aces.

Christine Carlsen ledBlue Ridgewith three kills and three digs and Allison Coller had 13 digs, two aces and four kills.

On Tuesday,ElkLakedefeated Montrose 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21 to take the shutout victory.

Kelsey Caines had seven kills, Michaela Boner added five kills and Carley Bennett had four kills and six aces to lead the Lady Warriors.

Katie VanEtten added 10 assists.

Kristen Dibble had six kills and Miranda Dunne had six assists for Montrose.

Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge Raider girls’ volleyball team was dealt a 3-0 loss fromAbingtonHeightson the road on Tuesday.

Abington toppedBlue Ridgein three straight sets, 25-11, 25-20 and 25-11.

Allison Coller had eight digs, two aces and two kills for blue Ridge while Kristine Carlson had six digs and two kills and Katherine Kempa had three kills and five assists.

Forest City

ForestCity’s Lady Forester volleyball team faced a 3-0 on the road Thursday from Lackawanna Trail after taking a 3-0 loss fromDunmoreat home on Tuesday evening.

Against Trail, the Lions topped the Foresters 25-8, 25-13 and 25-19.

Samantha Kuriger had three kills, two digs and an ace forForestCityand Zoe Zazzera had two kills and 17 digs.

On Tuesday, the Foresters were put down in order, 25-10, 25-2 and 25-5.

Samantha Kuriger had 28 digs forForestCitywhile Zoe Zazzera had 16 digs and Solana Stratford had seven digs.

Mt. View

The Mountain View girls’ volleyball team took a 3-1 victory over Montrose on the road Thursday after the team was handed a 3-0 shutout loss from Western Wayne at home on Tuesday evening.

Against Montrose, the Eagles won the first set 25-16, before Montrose would tie things up with a 25-12 win in the second. However,Mountain Viewtook the win with 25-13 and 25-12 wins in the third and fourth sets.

Ashley Mesach had seven kills and five blocks and Taylor Nally had 23 assists and seven aces to lead the Eagles.

Kerri Jarnagin added 11 assists and four aces.

Miranda Dunne had six aces and nine assists for Montrose and Shelby Stock had five aces and three kills.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats downed the Eagles in order, 25-17, 25-12 and 27-25 to seal the victory.
