Eagles defeat Forest City, Blue Ridge

Mountain View’s boys’ soccer team picked up a 16-1 victory at home against Blue Ridge on Thursday after taking a 5-1 victory over Forest City at home on Tuesday evening.

Against the Raiders, Colby Thomas scored six goals and Austin Mack and Chris White each had a hat trick to lead Mountain View.

Zeb Cross and Colin Davis also scored for the Eagles in the win.

Blue Ridge’s lone goal came from Jessica Jhingoor off an assist from John Ball in the first half.

Mountain View had 39 shots on goal and four corners while Blue Ridge took one shot and had one corner.

Mountain View goalie Bobby Pfahl had no saves while Blue Ridge’s Dan Braun picked up nine.

On Tuesday, Mountain View’s Colby Thomas had three goals and two assists to lead the Eagles.

Cross added a goal and an assist for the Eagles while White booted in the Eagles’ final goal.

Wayde Loomis scored the lone goal for Forest City in the second half.

Mountain View had 29 shots on goal and four corners while goalie Bob Pfahl had one save.

Forest City took five shots on goal with five corners while goalie Matt Hardman-Zimmerman had eight saves.

Montrose

The Montrose Area boys’ soccer team grabbed a 3-0 victory over Elk Lake at home on Friday afternoon.

Joe Zuber scored all three Meteor goals, one in the first half and two in the second, to lead the way in the shutout.

Montrose had 21 shots on goal and four corners while Elk Lake took six shots and one corner.

Montrose goalie Justin Hartman picked up four saves while Warrior goalie Nick Dudock had seven.

Elk Lake

The Elk Lake boys’ soccer team handed Dunmore a 3-0 shutout on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Tyler Arnold scored a pair of first half goals at 17:04 and 21:09 to put the Warriors up 2-0.

Tanner Reyan then scored at 37:04 to cap scoring efforts for the Warriors as they held the Bucks scoreless.

Elk Lake had 12 shots on goal and five corners while Nick Dudock had seven saves.

Forest City

The Forest City boys’ soccer team picked upa 4-3 victory over Carbondale at home on Friday afternoon.

Forest City’s Wayde Loomis scored three of the four Forester goals to lead the team to victory.

Logan McHale got scoring started for the Foresters at 3:06 in the first half.

Forest City had 24 shots on goal and three corners while goalie Matt Hardman-Zimmerman picked up six saves.

Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge boys’ soccer team took a 9-1 loss from Holy Cross at Polonia Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Holy Cross scored a trio of goals in the first half to lead 3-0 at halftime, before knocking in six in the second half to top the Raiders.

Blue Ridge’s lone goal came from Billy Rupakus at 47 minutes in the second half.

Blue Ridge goalie Shawn Woodruff had 10 saves while Blue Ridge had five shots on goal and one corner kick.
