Police find stolen car burning after crash

Pennsylvania State Troopers found a 1998 Honda CRV burning in the roadway, Jan. 27, following a crash on Old Schoolhouse Rd., Clifford Twp. The driver had fled the scene.

It was later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from the Montrose area.

The vehicle had been traveling south on the roadway when the unknown driver failed to negotiate a right curve and lost control.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree; then spun counterclockwise and traveled about 111 feet before coming to a rest.

Tpr. Michael Lohman is investigating. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PSP, Gibson at 570-465-3154.
