A 28-year-old Susquehanna County man was arraigned Wednesday on sexual assault charges involving four different children.

Earl Russell Gow, of Stearns Road, New Milford, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Brainard in Clifford, and faces four felony counts of aggravated indecent assault – with three of the alleged victims less than 13 years old.

According to court documents, the incidents dating back to 1998 actually came to light after a Susquehanna County Children and Youth Services investigation involving a 6-year-old was completed over the past year.

The child indicated she had been touched in a bad way, and a police criminal complaint suggests it took place around April 1, 2012, in Brooklyn Township.

According to the complaint, Gow was interviewed earlier this month by state police and acknowledged he had inappropriately touched the child.

The complaint filed by State Trooper John Oliver notes “Gow stated that he does not know why he did it but wanted help so he could stop.”

The other three victims were allegedly assaulted in Harford Township in 1998, in Harford Township in 2002 and in Clifford Township in 2003.

Gow also faces four misdemeanor counts of indecent assault with a minor, and one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old.

Judge Brainard set bail at $25,000 in each of the four cases, and since Gow was unable to post it, he was remanded to the county jail in Montrose.
Preliminary hearings in all four cases have been scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, before Judge Brainard.
