Warriors sweep Blue Ridge

The Elk Lake boys’ volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory over Blue Ridge at home on Tuesday evening.

The Warriors downed the Raiders in straight sets, 25-19, 25023 and 25-8, to take the victory.

Jared Berg had 12 kills, two aces and 10 digs to lead the Warriors while Dan Noldy had 10 kills and three aces.

James Martin had five kills and Cody Franssen picked up 22 assists for Elk Lake.

Austin French had seven assists for Blue Ridge, Ian Robinson and Kyle Rivenburgh each had three kills.

Forest City

The Forest City boys’ volleyball team took a 3-0 loss from Western Wayne at home on Thursday after it was handed a 3-1 loss by Lackawanna Trail on Tuesday night on the road.

Against Western Wayne, the Foresters lost three straight sets, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-21 to fall to the Wildcats.

Wayde Loomis paced Forest City with three blocks, two kills and seven points while Mike Farrell had two blocks, six kills and eight service points. Ryan Long added four kills, three aces and nine points and Tyler Butler finished with three digs and 10 points.

On Tuesday, the Lions fell 28-26 in the first set, but came back to take 25-12 victories in the second and third to take a 2-1 lead before completing the win with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
Wayde Loomis paced Forest City with nine points, one ace, five kills and one assist, Mike Farrell had 12 points, one ace, three blocks and six kills and Ryan Long had 20 points, three aces and nine assists.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna boys’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss from Abington Heights on the road Thursday after the team was handed a 3-0 loss from Western Wayne on the road on Tuesday night.

Against Abington, the Sabers lost three straight sets 25-22, 25-16 and 25-13 to take the loss.

Michael Frye led the Sabers with 14 assists, two aces and two blocks. Steven Frye had nine blocks and nine kills and Doug Bishop finished with four blocks and three kills.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats handed Susquehanna losses in three straight sets, 25-14, 25-19, and 25-23.
Michael Frye had 10 digs and three blocks for the Sabers while Cody Dibble added 15 digs, Steven Frye had three aces, five blocks and six kills and Luke Falletta added four blocks and seven kills.

Mountain View

The Mountain View boys’ volleyball team grabbed a 3-1 victory over Elk Lake on the road Thursday after the team was dealt a 3-0 loss from Abington Heights on Tuesday night in Kingsley.

Against Elk Lake, the Warriors grabbed a 25-16 win in the first set before Mountain View went on to win three straight sets 25-16, 25-6 and 25-20 to down Elk Lake.

Austin Mack had 20 assists and Chad Schmidt added 13 kills and three aces to lead the Eagles.
Jake Heller added four blocks for Mountain View.

Jared Berg had 11 kills and 11 digs for Elk Lake. Dan Noldy added 10 kills, 13 points and 14 digs and Cody Franssen finished with 20 assists and seven points.

On Tuesday, the Eagles faced three straight losses from the Comets, 25-18, 26-14, and 25-13 to fall to 0-3 on the season.

Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge boys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-1 loss by Lackawanna Trail at home on Thursday evening.

The Raiders lost the first two sets, 25-9 and 25-10, before posting a 25-19 win in the third set. However, Trail took a 25-10 win in the fourth set to cap the victory.

Mark Oakley finished with five kills and two aces for Blue Ridge while Ian Robinson had four kills and Austin French added three aces and eight assists.
