Six members of Cub Scout Pack 81, Susquehanna, completed the Cub Scout Trail, including the Arrow of Light Ceremony and took part in the Boy Scout Cross Over.

The Arrow of Light badge is the only Cub Scout badge the boys may wear on their Boy Scout uniform.
The five new members of Boy Scout Troop 81 are: Steven Brown, Ian Collins, Jonathan Jenkins, Shane Muiter and Airyll Rockwell. Ryan Armitage will be joining Troop 89, Hallstead.

Committee Chair Tammy Heller and committee members invited leaders and members of Boy Scout Troop 89 to attend the Blue and Gold Banquet to welcome the boys as they crossed the bridge.

Dave Jenkins, Webelos II leader, bid his boys a farewell as they embark on a new journey that may lead some to the highest Boy Scout rank of Eagle.

Jenkins, who has been with the program since 2008, was assisted by Clark Collins.

Colors were presented by Webelos II. Following the welcome by Tammy Heller, Webelos II presented an enactment of a “day in the life” of an American Indian complete with a teepee, camp fire and an Indian Chief, known locally as Cubmaster Terry Rockwell.

Canawacta Lodge, F&AM, Susquehanna prepared the barbecued chicken, while committee members provided additional dinner items. Volunteers from Stone Bridge Lions Club, the Charter Organization for Troop and Pack 81, led by Lions Club President Peter Nivan, served the buffet.

Supporters of the Susquehanna scouting program were recognized and given certificates of appreciation for what has been described as a generous contribution, making it possible to provide a fun and rewarding program for the Cub and Boy Scouts.

During the Cub Awards and Advancement Ceremony each Cub received a new neckerchief denoting the new rank he has achieved. Committee member Todd Heller served as narrator for the advancement ceremony and the Arrow of Light ceremony.
