
Montrose grad Michael Hackett signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Mount Mercy University, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Michael Hart Hackett, of Montrose, has been recruited to play baseball for the NAIA Mount Mercy University Mustangs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Hackett signed his letter of intent.
Mount Mercy is a member of the National Athletic Intercollegiate Association (NAIA) and competed in the Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC).
Hackett is a 2012 Montrose Area High School graduate and former co-captain for the Meteors baseball team which earned the Lackawanna League Div. III title in 2012.
He played for the Lackawanna College Falcons in 2012-2013 That year the Falcons captured the North East District title and advanced to the NJCAA Division Ii World Series in Enid,Okla.
Hackett moved on to play for Chesapeake College Skipjacks in Wye Mills, Md., for the 2013-14 season and presently has signed an athletic academic scholarship.
Mike is a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. He is the son of David and Michele Hackett, of Montrose.
