Blue Ridge splits on week

Blue Ridge’s Katherine Kempa had 23 assists and six points and Hayliegh Fekette had eight kills to lead the Lady Raiders to a 3-0 sweep against Susquehanna.

Kristine Carlson had eight kills, six aces, 14 points and 10 digs for the winners and Kimberly Klim added 15 points and five kills.

Ana Smith led Susquehanna with six kills, Cori Glidden had 18 assists and Taryn Tross had eight points.

Blue Ridge fell to the undefeated Dunmore, 3-0, later in the week. Fekette led the Lady Raiders with eight digs. The team is now 6-2 on the season, ranked third behind Dunmore (8-0) and Abington Heights (6-1).

Montrose took a 3-0 win over Elk Lake. Megan Dunne had six kills and seven digs and Lacy Nealy had 15 assists to pace the Lady Meteors.

Sam Scholtz had eight kills for the winners and Elizabeth Kelly had seven aces and seven digs.

Mikayla Parrett led Elk Lake with seven kills.

The Lady Meteors fell to Abington Heights 3-0 last week.

Sabrina Fallon led Mountain View with nine points in a 3-0 loss to Western Wayne in a Lackawanna League girls volleyball match on Tuesday (Sept. 16).

Forest City fell 3-0 to Abington Heights. Caitlyn Bonham had seven points and seven assists for Forest City. Emily Statkun had eight digs, while Zoe Zazzera added 12 digs.

At Susquehanna, Anna Smith had 12 digs, Felicia Hines had 17 service points and Nicole Barnes had 13 service points to lead the Lady Sabers to the 3-0 Lackawanna League win over Elk Lake.

The Lady Eagles were beaten by Abington Heights, 3-0; and Western Wayne swept Forest City with Zoe Zazzara posting 13 digs for Forest City.
